[1] 1794, June [1 l.]. Ship Ascentions [sic] inward settlement from Havana. "To cash paid the officers & people for 2 and a half slaves at 500 doll[ar]s each ..." Includes names of Caleb Gardner, Wm. Vernon, and Peleg Clark. [2] 1798, March 24, Samuel Chase to Peleg Clark, Caleb Gardner, and Wm. Vernon [2 p.]. "To neat proceeds of 250 slaves sold at Buenos Ayres $44130.32.... Cash received by 15 slaves being your priveledge [sic] at the averidge [sic] price as payment being doll. $156 [=] $2340 ... By the cost of 283 slaves purchased at Mozambique ..."
